Yay for Mexico Mission Adventures! #mma

Latest update from my sister: (pictured below with Papaw right before they took him in for surgery) "He is doing well. He's still asleep and has the tube in but I (Alisha) got to go back and see him for a minute. He looks good. We are just waiting for him to wake up so they can take out the tube. They only had to do one bypass instead of three. Thanks for the prayers." I'll keep you posted as I know more! Thank you for your prayers & please continue to do so as he may need another surgery on his colon after he recovers from heart surgery.

They are taking my papaw back for surgery now. Pray for the doctors & nurses and the family as they (we) wait.

This super cute guy in the stylish hospital gown is my Papaw (grandfather if you don't speak southern). Right now they are prepping him for open heart surgery & he's waiting to talk with the dr. If they go ahead with surgery he will go back in a few hours. My papaw is an incredible man. He is a pastor in the Church of God and has pastored for like 60 years. Before pastoring he was an evangelist. My papaw is the most compassionate, kind, gentle, loving, joyful, patient man I know. He is highly respected in his town and even non-believers drop everything to assist a need when he calls. He always makes the rounds at the local hospital not just to pray for his parishioners but with anybody who wants it. He is vivacious, a hard worker, has a great sense of humor, loves to laugh, and loves to give/provide for others. Some people say that I'm a lot like my papaw and I take that as a HUGE compliment! I wish I was just a tiny bit like him! This past year has been rough. He has had a lot of health issues & his strength & heart have declined. Our family feels like he is too weak to have the surgery but we are trusting that God has a bigger plan in all of this! Please join us in praying for my papaw; that he would continue to show God's love regardless of the circumstance; that our family would be a witness while at the hospital. Pray for my Mamaw (grandmother) as she tries to deal with it all, she said the nurses are about to drive her crazy (people say I'm a lot like my Mamaw too, short & spunky). Pray for me also as I am far away from family during all of this. “And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose.” Romans 8:28 ESV

That moment when you teach dramas & full out perform them to demonstrate what they should look like, just like you've done a thousand times before. You can't understand then why the next morning you can't move & are covered in bruises, but then realize that "before" was 20 years & 50 lbs ago! #yikes #almost40 #ouch #youngatheart #butnotbody

“But the angel said to the women, “Do not be afraid, for I know that you seek Jesus who was crucified. He is not here, for he has risen, as he said. Come, see the place where he lay. Then go quickly and tell his disciples that he has risen from the dead, and behold, he is going before you to Galilee; there you will see him. See, I have told you.”” Matthew 28:5-7 ESV #Heisrisen #Heisalive #easter #Heovercamedeath #soyoucouldhavelife #Jesus #BecauseHeLivesIcanfacetomorrow

Does anyone have any super old school cell phones that don't work anymore that you'd be willing to donate to our school?? We would like to start using them for some of our lessons and dramatic play. If so, they can be sent to: Sheril Brasher, Little Builders Preschool 100 West 35th Street, Suite R National City, CA 91950

Taking orders NOW!!! A portion of the shirt sales will go towards our preschool and upcoming k-12 school here in Mexico. (shirts will be mailed/delivered in mid-April) $20 for locals (Mexico & San Diego) $25 for everyone else (includes shipping) If you would like to purchase a shirt, please msg me or comment below!! Payment can be made via Paypal. I love the duality of the message of this shirt. If you don't know, it is a quote by Dr. Seuss in the book Horton Hears a Who. While I work with small people (children) I am more & more convinced that they are our future! If we don't nurture, educate & find value in them today, what will our future look like? The Bible says: "At that time Jesus said, “I praise you, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because you have hidden these things from the wise and learned, and revealed them to little children." Matthew 11:25. I also serve in Mexico (the shape on the shirt is the country of Mexico in case you couldn't figure that out). Often times people who grow up in poverty or third world countries FEEL very small, insignificant and devalued. But the Bible says: "So God created mankind in his own image, in the image of God he created them; male and female he created them." Genesis 1:27. It doesn't say that He created only certain people in His image but all of mankind! They all have a purpose & a plan, whether they believe in Him or not. #missionarylife #fundraising #supportraising #missions #education #drseuss
